About Cambridge Fencing

Cambridge Fencing is a booking line. It is not a fencing company and does not claim to be. The site exists so that somebody in Cambridge who needs a fence reaches one vetted, insured contractor quickly, instead of filling in four lead-generation forms and being called by nine companies for a fortnight.

What that means in practice: the work is done by a fence contractor carrying their own insurance and WSIB coverage, who quotes in writing after looking at the property and is accountable for the result. Your details are not sold to a list and you are not put into an auction.

This site is specific about Cambridge's by-law because the city's limits are genuinely different from its neighbours' and the difference costs money. Cambridge allows 2.1 metres behind the building line where Kitchener and Waterloo allow 2.44; its daylighting triangle caps at 0.75 metres; and it requires no permit for an ordinary fence but does for a pool enclosure. Those figures come from City of Cambridge Fence By-law No. 92-05 and the City's own published pages. Because 92-05 is an older by-law, anything to do with the pool enclosure standard on this site carries the same caveat: confirm the current requirement with the City before relying on it. Properties in North Dumfries Township are covered by that township's by-law, not Cambridge's, and the applicable one gets checked against the address before a height is quoted. Where something is the City's to confirm — a pool permit, the footing depth for your lot — this site says so rather than inventing a number.

Some work gets declined: fences across a genuinely disputed boundary, jobs needing a survey nobody wants to pay for, fences on City-owned land, and pool enclosures on a timeline with no room for plans, a permit and an inspection.

How this works

When you call 226-799-8254 or send the form, your details go straight to the fence contractor covering Cambridge — not to a list, not to a call centre. Calls go to voicemail when somebody is on a job, which is most of the working day, and the message and your number reach them immediately by text and email. Expect a call back the same day or the next working day. The next step is a site visit, because a fence quote written without walking the line is a guess: the visit settles the route, the ground, the access, the by-law heights, any daylighting triangle, and anything needing a locate or a permit.
